In this blog I am going to record what I have learned along the way as we build our first internet business. I hope others join in and share their ideas as well.
The biggest decision of course was to start a business in the first place and leave the comfort of the big corporate world - that is another story. Once that was done we had to work out the right business to be in, the right business structure and perhaps the hardest part of all - naming the business. In some ways finding a name for your brand new business is harder than naming your children. It is OK for your child to have the same name as the child next door - but it isn't OK for your business to have the same name as the one next door.
Of course we were way too ambitious and wanted to have a name that was unique on the internet! Oh boy! Well we quickly gave up on that idea and settled for one that was unique in the area we are based and with few similar names out in the internet space. And then back in early January we incorporated our business and got started.
